Job Summary:

As a patient progresses through physical therapy the Physical Therapist Assistant will provide treatments and follow a Physical Therapists established plans.

You will maintain productivity standards and advocate communicate and educate patients of all this role you may help with supervising students rehab aides and volunteers.

Therapy may be provided in a variety of settings and travel may be required.

All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise

  • Provides physical therapy treatments following established plans under supervision of a physical therapist taking into account age and educational level while accurately assessing patients response to treatment as measured by clinical competencies. Can assist therapist in selective measurements without interpretation or evaluation.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate patient care records according to departmental protocols and demonstrates basic competency for completing accurate billing and electronic documentation under therapist supervision.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment to comply with hospital and department safety standards.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in clinical practice. Understands and abides by ProMedicas mission and values in all interactions with patients visitors and co-workers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to advocate communicate and educate patients of all age groups served including those with physical emotional language and cognitive impairments taking into account age and educational level as measured by competencies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill to utilize equipment safely and appropriately for patient care activities.
  • Maintains established departmental policies procedures objectives quality assurance programs and safety standards.
  • Manages and maintains productivity standards as established by the department.
  • May assist in the supervision of students rehabilitation aides and volunteers.
  • Provides physical therapy in a variety of settings and may be required to travel between ProMedica Total Rehab locations.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution

License: Current State license to practice as a physical therapy assistant

Certification: CPR

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DETAILS:

Primarily inpatient coverage with potential for outpatient hours

Schedule details

Weekly schedule: Flexible based upon availability and department needs.

Weekend schedule: One weekend shift required per month; Additional weekends preferred.

Holiday rotation: None
