SECRETARY TO THE PRINCIPAL/BUILDING
OF CREEKSIDE LEARNING CENTER
Full-Time Non-Union At-Will Position
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports directly to the Principal of Creekside Learning Center a school for special education students. The secretary also assumes clerical duties for other staff as assigned. This will include CEPI MSDS Pupil Attendance PowerSchool greeting parents enrollment paperwork purchasing of supplies and other building duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer an associates or bachelors degree with one to three years of related experience.
- Experience with legal and/or special education regulations process procedures and documentation preferred.
- Self-motivated to learn and maintain a general knowledge of Special Education including laws regulations policies and compliance.
- Exceptional ability to write and orally communicate including writing letters reports business letters charts and materials.
- Ability to organize prioritize and work independently and cooperatively producing quality work in a timely manner.
- Past successful experience with basic accounting/bookkeeping functions and managing project budgets.
- Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office applications and various data systems including BusinessPLUS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with co-workers staff community agencies and the public.
- Regular predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for correspondence for Creekside Principal.
- Maintain accurate records for all building staff including leave time and evaluations.
- Assist with the ordering inventory and monitoring of all supplies materials and equipment for clerical instructional and supportive programs.
- Prepare schedules for inservices and orientation.
- Maintain all petty cash records including CBI. Prepare statements as needed.
- Responsible for all printing requests.
- Responsible for all room requests at Creekside and notifying proper personnel.
- Process hourly timesheets and mileage expense reports.
- Process all year-end reports including attendance petty cash and conference expenses.
- CEPI MSDS and Pupil Accounting entry on the quarter.

RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in processing student reports and with overflow work from other secretarial staff.
- Arrange for repair of equipment.
- Process purchase orders and related reports.
- Work cooperatively with staff students parents local agencies and the public.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff reports.
- Answer telephones transfer calls and take messages for Principal and assigned staff.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment Date: Pending successful completion of employee drug screen and background check.
Classification: Full-time non-union position-7.5 hours/day 235 work days
Wage: $36000 - $40000 based on experience
