Job Description

Administrative Faculty Contract. Non Tenure Track Benefits Eligible - This position is grant funded through 6/30/2027. Employment is contingent upon continued funding.

The Link Center Coordinator position provides comprehensive administrative and programmatic support for Western Nevada Colleges College and Career Readiness (CCR) Center. This position assists the Director and CCR staff with day-to-day operations student engagement and partnership coordination to ensure efficient functioning of the center and high-quality student experience.
Responsibilities include managing The Link coordinating third-party on-site staff and assisting students and community members with career exploration and coaching and proctoring career-interest assessments.


This role is central to the colleges mission of connecting students to workforce opportunities and supporting community economic development through career readiness and training access.

Major Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Director CCR Staff and The Link including scheduling correspondence record management and event coordination

  • Maintain accurate files reports and records for center operations student use and community partnerships

  • Coordinate communications and appointments with the on-site EmployNV career coach and other workforce partners

  • Prepare customized training proposals correspondence and data summaries for program reporting

  • Supervise train and schedule student workers interns or support staff assigned to the center

Center Operations and Oversight

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for campus partners and external organizations utilizing the space

  • Maintain the workspace to ensure it is tidy welcoming and conducive to student engagement

  • Ensure informational displays technology and printed resources are up to date and functional

  • Coordinate facilitate and implement the logistics of events employer visits and workshops

  • Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the center ensuring security readiness and compliance with institutional guidelines

  • Oversee daily operational safety ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures

  • Serve as a point of contact with Campus Police Services to address safety concerns coordinate emergency response procedures and support incident reporting when needed

  • Monitor the physical condition of the center and promptly report maintenance needs to Facilities Management

  • Collaborate with Facilities teams to support custodial schedules room setups repairs and ongoing upkeep of the space

  • Monitor center usage foot traffic and engagement trends to inform continuous improvement of services and layout

  • Manage inventory of supplies technology promotional materials and equipment ensuring adequate stock and timely replacements

  • Support budget tracking for center-related purchases events and operational needs

  • Address and resolve day-to-day challengesincluding scheduling issues facility disruptions or student concernsin a timely and professional manner

Student and Community Engagement

  • Greet and assist students and visitors building strong welcoming relationships with students to encourage ongoing engagement in career exploration employment readiness and academic success and provide information about services and workforce development opportunities

  • Administer proctor and record results of career interest and skill assessments; ensure appropriate documentation and confidentiality

  • Track student participation in programs and assist with data preparation

  • Assist community members seeking information about WNC programs job training resources or local workforce services helping them navigate available pathways

  • Serve as a liaison between the center and community partners employers and service organizations to facilitate connections

  • Support outreach efforts by promoting events workshops and services to students community members and partner organizations

  • Provide individualized support to students facing barriers to employment or education offering guidance and connecting them with appropriate campus or community resources

  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages participation from diverse student and community populations

  • Gather feedback from students and community visitors to help improve services programming and overall experience

  • Participate in community events job fairs and outreach activities representing WNC and strengthening relationships with regional workforce partners

Eligible Training Provider List Coordination

  • Monitor and maintain the colleges Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) ensuring accuracy of program data and compliance with state and federal workforce requirements

  • Collaborate with instructional departments and the Nevada Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) to update and validate ETPL entries

  • Support the timely submission of program data and updates for continued eligibility and reporting

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and one year of related professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Bachelors degree (i.e. AA2 or 3 yrs related professional experience).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Practices of office administration recordkeeping and customer service

  • Career-readiness workforce development and community college student services (preferred)

  • FERPA and other confidentiality regulations regarding student information

Skill in:

  • Professional communication both written and verbal.

  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) and database management systems

  • Time management and organization to manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders

Ability to:

  • Work independently with minimal supervision be self-directed and manage competing priorities

  • Exercise sound judgment discretion and confidentiality.

  • Provide empathetic and culturally competent support to students from diverse backgrounds

  • Represent WNC professionally in interactions with students staff and community partners

Minimum Starting Salary:

This position is at a salary grade A. The minimum of the placement range is $48403.99. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience. WNCs placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule: NSHE ADMINISTRATIVE SALARY SCHEDULE
