Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Accountant to take on diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and a collaborative mindset along with the ability to adapt to new processes and proactively improve them.

Key Responsibilities

Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations including high-volume cash credit card and third-party deposits
Ensure accurate and timely recording of cash ACH and other disbursements
Partner with internal teams to investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
Compile data and prepare monthly sales and use tax returns
Coordinate timely payment of sales tax deposits
Monitor sales tax rate and exemption changes and support system updates as needed
Prepare and post journal entries including accruals reclasses and recurring entries
Record bank fees credit card processing fees and interest transactions
Account for third-party service activity including deposits adjustments and accruals
Reconcile high-risk balance sheet accounts and assist with variance analysis
Review income statement expenses and provide explanations for fluctuations
Support financial statements internal reporting allocations roll-forwards and tie-outs

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Accounting
5 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus
CPA or MBA preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP including debit/credit accounting complex reconciliations and variance analysis
Experience with general ledger systems and large ERP environments
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables VLOOKUPs)
Self-starter with strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
Proven ability to work independently meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
Proactive mindset focused on process improvement and automation
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
