Assistant Athletic Director Marblehead High School

Marblehead High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Athletic Director. They will assist the Athletic Director in overseeing all aspects of our athletic program and provide leadership and management of all athletic activities for student athletes. They will assist in fostering a positive inclusive and safe environment. They are expected to promote the values of our athletic department which include: teamwork sportsmanship respect commitment integrity and responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in athletic administration a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic environment and a proven track record of leadership and organizational skills. Qualifications:Bachelors degree required3 years of successful teaching and/or coaching experience at the high school of and experience working with MIAA policies and proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to facilitate teams; ability to work well with administration teachers coaches students and parentsCertification in American Red Cross Adult CPR/First AidAbility to effectively manage budgets personnel and to promoting diversity equity and inclusion in be able to visually inspect existing athletic facilities and other be able to work outside in adverse weather conditions lift up to twenty-five pounds from the floor to overhead move around schools and athletic facilities travel to athletic events and related with both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace is a plusRESPONSIBILITIES:Leadership - Assist the Athletic Director in setting department goals developing policies and ensuring compliance with MIAA regulations and district policies. Serve as acting Athletic Director in the absence of the Athletic Management - Promotes and enforces the philosophy and policies of the Marblehead Public Schools. Assist in the coordination and scheduling of all interscholastic athletic events and facilities use including field and gym practice schedules coordinating transportation and managing equipment and facilities. Administer the procedures to meet the goals and policies of the athletic Management - Coordinate and oversee athletic events tournaments and championships ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants spectators and officials. Assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of all home games as administrator per MIAA Management - Assist the athletic director in managing the athletic department budget including allocating funds for equipment uniforms officials game day staff and travel expenses while ensuring fiscal responsibility and - Assist the Athletic Director in enforcing appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities. Ensure compliance with all Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and NEC rules and regulations as well as district policies related to eligibility safety and sportsmanship. Verifies each athletes eligibility according to the requirements adopted by the Marblehead Public School District and/or the MIAA including academic eligibility physical examinations and baseline and post-concussion Engagement - Assist the Athletic Director in fostering school-community relations by keeping the community informed and responsive to the athletic program including promoting direct connections with the towns recreation & parks department and youth sports organizations. Assist in cultivating positive relationships with parents alumni community members and local organizations to enhance support for the athletic program and promote school spirit. Carries out such other appropriate responsibilities as may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
