Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management
Two (2) years of experience working on human resource activities
Assets:
A good understanding of the City of Edmontons policies practices guidelines and collective agreements
General knowledge of the different functional areas of Human Resources

Problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve inquiries using past precedent and relevant legislation
Strong technical skills in the Google work environment with enhanced proficiency using Google Sheets to create dashboards and metrics
Ability to influence and persuade others while developing strong working relationships with internal collaborators and union representatives
Ability to analyze and integrate information from multiple sources to form a comprehensive perspective
Ability to achieve results take initiative and be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances

Work Environment:

You will operate with a high degree of independence in your area of authority providing authoritative advice on routine business inquiries that may impact the employment relationship between employees and management. The role involves managing moderately complex problems requiring research and analysis of collective agreement interpretation and past practice. Join the Workforce Partnerships section within Employee Services/HR Client Services where you will play a critical role in providing professional consulting services and administrative oversight. As a Human Resources Coordinator you will be the key operational backbone of the section ensuring the smooth flow of work providing advice on routine HR matters and maintaining the systems that track our teams performance and information. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a positive workplace culture and support the implementation of city-wide HR programs and initiatives.
What will you do
Provide advisory services and respond to inquiries from clients and union representatives on routine to moderately complex HR matters
Create and maintain dashboards and metrics to track work volume performance and trends
Conduct research and analysis to support HR programs and projects and the development of innovative solutions to challenge the status quo
Support Workforce Partnerships in coordinating and implementing HR Initiatives with our business lines to support workforce planning
Act as a central point of contact for internal clients proactively ensuring timely communication and efficient completion of administrative processes
Develop maintain and manage tracking/filing systems file naming conventions and controlled access to sensitive employee documents
Administer all information access requests for the section including researching and gathering related documentation
Participate in working groups and support corporate-level projects and initiatives where required
