COMPENSATION:

Initial salary placement ranges from $67886 to $106308 based upon education and experience. The current faculty salary schedule includes five classes and twenty steps with a maximum annual salary of $142425.

Representative Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be present on campus to teach face-to-face classesand hold in-person office hours.
  • ParticipateintheBusinessAdministrationdepartmentannualprogramreview.
  • Participate in full- time faculty responsibilities including but not limited to department meetings office hours committee assignments program development and staff development activities.
  • Demonstrate work experience with assessment evaluation and planning of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and to use the results to make improvements in teaching and learning.
  • Promote the success of a diverse student population through careful preparation of course materials and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times including dual enrollment at high school sites evening and/or weekends hyflex correspondence education and in hybrid and online formats as needed.
  • Demonstrateastudent-centeredapproachtoteachingtoinspireandmotivatestudentstosucceed.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities in the discipline including club advising.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters in business business management business administration accountancy finance marketing or business education OR bachelors in any of the aboveAND masters in economics personnel management public administration or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)ORbachelors in economics with a business emphasis AND masters in personnel management public administration or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)OR the equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of two years teaching accounting courses particularly financial and managerial accounting at the community college level.
  • Experience using Canvas learning management system (LMS) from an instructional standpoint.
  • Distance education (DE) certified in Canvas learning management system (LMS).
  • Recent classroom experience with a diverse range of students including underrepresented populations and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes.
  • Experience working with students of various cultural gender age socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds including special needs students.
  • A minimum of five years of business experience preferably accounting and/or auditing experience in the private and/or public sector.
  • Knowledge in spreadsheet and accounting software.
  • Experience in developing and teaching online and hybrid courses.
  • Instruct students in a full range of classes appropriate to the accounting discipline including but not limited to personal and business tax financial and managerial accounting governmental and non-profit accounting computerized accounting (QuickBooks) bookkeeping payroll and accounts receivables.
Must have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Office classroom lab and/or on-line environment. Position requires ability to communicate and exchange information. The assignment may include day weekend and/or evening classes on campus and/or at off campus locations. Position requires ability and schedule flexibility to accommodate active participation in College and Department Outreach Events such as College and Career Fairs and College and Community Presentations.

  • Knowledge of developing course syllabi
  • Knowledge of fostering inclusive environments for student learning
  • Knowledge of integrating accessible practices into course design and teaching strategies
  • Knowledge and ability to teach and support students across multiple modalities including online hybrid remote HyFlex and correspondence while maintaining engagement and accessibility.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain compliance with all third-party accrediting bodies by keeping required credentials certifications and regulatory standards current when applicable.

  • Demonstrated ability to remain current in ones discipline through ongoing professional development research and engagement with emerging trends and best practices.
