Team Elmers is seeking to fill a full-time opening for a Transportation Assistant at the Alpena Quarry. This position works directly with the trucking division manager quarry manager and project managers and will perform various duties such as: scheduling and dispatching gravel trains and assigned trucks quoting aggregate deliveries to local customers as well as contractors scale ticketing and support the daily needs of the trucking division.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer service as a priority
- Problem solving with personal skills to manage deliveries
- Help with dispatching duties and driver assignments
- Meet with customers and complete quotes for jobs
- Manage GPS tracking software
- Review timecards for accuracy and compare to E logs
- Handle and assist walk-in customers retail needs (scale in/out print tickets on scale computer)
Additional duties as requested or assigned.
Knowledge & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the construction trucking and aggregate industry a plus
- Attention to detail is a must good with numbers and can perform quickly.
- Strong computers skills (Microsoft Office-Excel Word Outlook) and abilities to learn new programs.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accept immediate responsibility and work in a fast pace environment
- Candidate must be a team player but able to work independently. All with a can do attitude.
- Strong ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills are essential.
