The iconic Hotel del Coronadois looking for an Assistant Executive Steward to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms cottages and villas with 65000 square feet of banquet space and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants 2 bars a food truck marketplace ice cream shop and in-room dining.
In this role you will oversee stewarding operations across all food and beverage outlets and banquets managing team of up to 50 and reporting directly to the Executive Steward.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader with a drive for continued growth within food & beverage excellent organizational and critical thinking skills and thorough knowledge of banquet function execution. At least 3 years of food & beverage management experience in high-volume operations and experience handling administrative duties is required. Union experience is a plus.

What will I be doing
As an AssistantExecutive Steward you will be responsible foroverseeing all Banquet Stewarding all Dishwashers and all Night Porters functions. Administrate the departments and ensure proper functioning. Specifically you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Assist theExecutive Steward with all department responsibilities.
Hire staff discipline staff evaluate their performance and document all aspects of employment.
Develop training programs both group and individual to include hotel information equipment use cleanliness practices and safety.
Schedule Stewards Dishwasher and Night Porters keeping payroll under control and ensures all job requirements are performed.
Attend management meetings and implement any required changes and information in the department.
Store maintain and replenish all food and beverage equipment.
Evaluate and pre-plan for upcoming season. Look at upcoming business and make sure equipment levels and staffing are adequate.
Responsible for the execution of all banquet events with equipment and food items.
Assist Banquet Manager in all aspects of banquet functions including set-up operation and clean up of events.
Assist all outlets with staffing and equipment needs.
Make sure all chemicals are properly handled.
Perform all reasonable duties as instructed by executive leadership.
