The Accounts Payable Clerk under limited supervision will prepare and maintain records for accounts payable.
This is a Monday - Friday 8:30 am to approximately 5:00 pm position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Process accounts payable invoices for payment including verification of costs and price extensions discounts account codes etc.
- Research unpaid invoices credit memos back ordered items etc.
- Process and remit accounts payable checks including replacement checks.
- Communicate with vendors pertaining to accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Maintain files.
- Assist with preparation of 1099s.
- Provide back up for the preparation of accounts payable reports.
- Assist with audit preparation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
- Associates Degree preferred.
- 2 years Accounts Payable and/or general accounting experience
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures computer systems calculator programs and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of state and departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal and state reporting requirements as they pertain to the accounts payable processes.
