Senior Advisor Pacific Disaster Risk Management Programme (Technical Input)

In this role you will be supporting capacity and capability enhancement in targeted Pacific National Disaster Management Offices (NDMO) communities and government agencies in emergency management planning and preparedness. You will work alongside the NDMOs to deliver emergency management technical advice and peer-to-peer support against agreed work programmes.
NEMA are committed to New Zealand providing an effective and timely response to disasters globally and in the Pacific and to improved levels of resilience and enhanced capability for risk reduction readiness response and recovery from disasters in the Pacific. This is carried out through the Pacific Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Programme funded by MFAT and managed by the International Engagement Team of NEMA through a Memorandum of Understanding.
Due to the nature of our role in Emergency Management NEMA has a very dynamic work environment and as a small agency staff are often required to pivot and change focus on their work at short notice. Attributes of adaptability agility resilience and curiosity are all required on a daily basis in and out of times of emergency response.
