| Role Description: |
The Meter Technician I aids Meter Technician IIengaged in the performance of various field duties in support of customer services i.e. field testinginstallation maintenance and replacement of metersobtaining reads from vault meters following confined space entry procedures performing bench test of Authority meters and recording results invarious systems.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Key Working Relationships:Interacts with co-workers in the department and throughout the Authority as well as customers and contractors.
Other: The incumbent is subject to being placed on call during hours and schedule identified by the Authority.

| Two (2) years of utility experience. |
| Minimum Education Requirements: |
| High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate |
| Required Skills: |
| Skill in basic data entry and in using computers and mobile devices. |
| Basic mathematical skills. |
| Ability to read maps. |
| Required Licenses & Certifications: |
| Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operating License. |
| Required Languages: |
| English |
| Physical Requirements: |
| Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. |
| Ability to crawl and work in tight unlit and unfinished spaces. |
| Subject to indoor and/or outdoor environmental conditions that include exposure to extreme cold and/hot temperatures. |
| Subject to noise vibration and to hazards from a variety of physical conditions. |

| Experience in the operation and maintenance of meter test benches maintaining and issuing inventory items and testing meters in accordance with AWWA standards. |

| Skill in categorizing organizing and recognizing all meter parts for various meter types and sizes. |
| Ability to assist with the testing and installation of meters. |
| Ability to operate sandblaster and drill press. |
