Job Summary

Design electrical systems for solar PV hybrid (Solar Grid Diesel) and battery energy storage applications;
Perform advanced AC and DC system calculations including:
- Load flow analysis
- Cable sizing and voltage drop
- Protection coordination and device selection
- Battery autonomy and lifecycle modelling
Develop detailed single-line diagrams wiring schematics grounding layouts panel and cabinet layouts;
Support present and future grid-connected / utility-interactive system interconnection requirements;
Assist in the design and application of transformers switchgear and LV/MV distribution equipment;
Support the integration of protection and control PLC SCADA and monitoring systems;
Prepare equipment specifications datasheets Bills of Material (BOMs) and material take-offs;
Review and coordinate vendor technical submissions and engineering documentation;
Participate in technical evaluation of suppliers technologies and design options;
Contribute to proposal development RFP technical documentation and estimating support;
Support FAT SAT and commissioning activities as required;
Conduct site visits and technical assessments;
Prepare design reports calculation summaries and as-built documentation;
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with codes standards and client expectations;
Mentor junior designers and contribute to knowledge development within the team;
Support continuous improvement of engineering tools templates and workflows.

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering (or equivalent);
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in:
- Solar PV or hybrid power systems
- Battery storage / DC systems
- AC power distribution or utility-connected power systems
Demonstrated experience preparing SLDs wiring diagrams panel layouts and system documentation;
Strong understanding of:
- AC & DC electrical distribution
- Grounding & bonding practices
- Transformers & switchgear
- Protection & control principles
Experience with AutoCAD / EPLAN or equivalent;
Familiarity with CEC CSA IEC IEEE standards (asset);
Experience working with utilities EPCs or industrial clients (asset);
Strong written interpersonal and technical communication skills;
Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects;
Professional Engineer () eligibility is an asset;
Being bilingual (French and English) is considered a strong asset.
