Are you available to work shift work weekends and sleepovers! Attractive hourly rates from $41.45 ph permanent rates plus penalties and allowances.

About the Role:

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the supervising Team Leader to guide mentor and support a team of Residential Youth Workers to implement person-centred active supports and work with organisational frameworks and practice standards. You will achieve this by demonstrating exemplary practice you will embed a positive work culture and create an environment in which clients can exercise their human rights and to work towards achieving their goals dreams and aspirations.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Through person-centred supports you and your team will support clients to increase their independent living skills form social/community relationships and take part in meaningful activities.
  • Through Frontline Practice Leadership (FPL) models support staff to develop their skills and improve their practice through exemplary practice and ensure staff provide person-centred active supports.
  • Understanding and/or experience working with young people that may display challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to recognise the effects of trauma on the development of young people and identify and recognise risks and provide trauma-informed and culturally appropriate interventions to support young people.
  • Capacity and commitment to work effectively with young people in a residential setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential team and broader care team to ensure the young person experiences a consistent and considered care arrangement ensuring that the house environment is inclusive and welcoming that leads to a high quality of care to young people.
  • Deliver high quality person-centred active supports to young people who reside in Residential Care ensure their needs are met as outlined in their plans.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will need:

Qualifications: Cert IV in Child Family and Youth Intervention (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain it.

Licenses: A valid Queensland Drivers License.

Screening: Current Working with Children Check NDIS Worker Screening and LCS2.

Availability: Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings afternoons sleepovers weekends and public holidays.

Passion: A genuine commitment to supporting young people and contributing to a positive team culture.
