Job Summary
The Associate Producer (part-time) is responsible for contributing story ideas; writing stories; organizing them within an energetic and memorable newscast or digital content for the web. WJBF in Augusta GA is looking for a part-time Associate Producer. This person will be responsible for editing newscasts. Must be able to work weekday and weekend afternoons and evenings. If youre looking to get your foot in the door this job is for you. Must be very organized motivated responsible and reliable.
- Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programming
- Trims recorded segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments into sequences that present stories with maximum effect
- Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete stories.
- Help Review scripts and graphics to make sure there are no spelling errors
- Help Run Prompter when necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Communications TV/film or equivalent experience may substitute
- Understand brand building directives
- Interact well with video journalists anchors videographers news managers production digital and engineering staff
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal written grammar and analytical skills
- Ability to develop strong news judgment
- Possess journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
- Knowledge of media production communication and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written oral and visual media
- Ability to meet quality standards for service & evaluate customer satisfaction
