Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Resident Engineer - Sustainabilityto support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP).

We are working in partnership with Parsons and Mace as part of the MPA Delivery Partner team selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation and is designed to strengthen mobility enhance resiliency and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.

The project encompasses the construction of a new two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey.

Role Accountabilities:

• Assist with REIM-focused sustainability workshops and design charrettes for project teams.
• Help refine and maintain sustainability specifications checklists and guidance documents.
• Assist in preparing training and educational materials in support of REIMs goal of building capacity among the future workforce small businesses and other stakeholders.
• Attend construction management (CM) meetings and participate in periodic site visits.
• Support orientation sessions for CM teams and contractors on sustainability/REIM requirements.
• Assist in coordinating and tracking construction submittals ensuring they are routed to the appropriate team members for review in alignment with REIM specifications.
• Help organize and track sustainability documentation provided by contractors in support of GDCs Key Performance Indicators (KPI) dashboard.
• Assist in preparing submissions to the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Architecture Environmental Sciences or related field (recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience).
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability green building or infrastructure (coursework internships or research experience welcome).

Key Skills and Abilities:

• Familiarity with LEED Envision or related frameworks preferred; interest in learning GDCs REIM framework required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to project management or data visualization tools a plus.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $70000 - $84000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
