Role: Ontologist / Knowledge Engineer
Work location: Atlanta GA
Job Description:
Program of work is to build a knowledge graph data integration pipeline and application to interact with knowledge graph. This role is in the consumer-packaged goods domain specifically food and beverage.
The Ontologist should have experience with designing and development of ontologies for the purposes of building knowledge graphs specifically food science or biochemistry. The ontologist will be responsible for leading SME workshops to explore concepts compare to standard ontologies in the relevant domain areas and making design decisions on SHACL validation and reasoning approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
Ontologist:
- Leading SME workshop to explore ontological domains and concepts.
- Identifying concepts and relationships between concepts in area of food science biochemistry and clinical trials.
- Compare ontology to existing standard / published ontologies such as FoodOn aligning where possible.
- Creation of core and domain ontologies leveraging upper ontologies where possible.
- Utilizing tools such as Protege to design and build the ontology.
- Creation of ontology inference rules.
- Creation of SHACL shapes for validation.
- Working with data engineers and development team to map ontological concepts to data for the knowledge graph.
