To help us with our mission of making the Australian dream of home ownership a reality for everyone we are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting and Tax Manager to join our team.

The Role

Working closely with the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer the Financial Reporting and Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring the groups financial statements comply with reporting standards while also managing the groups tax compliance and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with reporting standards for 40 group entities.
  • Oversee the general ledger review balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage income tax GST FBT and payroll tax obligations ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Advise on the tax implications of business decisions property acquisitions transactions and structures.
  • Manage the groups Division 7A compliance.
  • Liaise with tax advisors authorities auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in accounting or a related field.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Perfect role for a first/second time mover from a Big-4 or mid-tier firm with a business services/tax background.
  • Experience in the property development or construction industry preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to explain complex financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables lookups reconciliations).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
