About the Role
Were seeking a Dishwasher to ensure dishes and utensils are cleaned sanitized and properly stored while supporting a smooth and efficient dining service. Reporting to the Dining Room Manager or Director Culinary Services youll help maintain a safe clean and professional kitchen and dining environment.
What Youll Do
- Support a positive customer service culture in the dining room
- Transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area
- Clear wash and sanitize dishes utensils and tabletop items
- Return dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas
- Ensure safe work practices for yourself and coworkers; comply with Safety Committee Standards
- Complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room kitchen dining areas steam tables sinks and drains
- Empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules
- Assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed
- Maintain flexibility with daily schedule including weekends or evenings as needed
- Display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents families and visitors
- Provide support during community tours and events
- Follow dress code and maintain a positive professional image
- Report elder maltreatment or abuse as required to appropriate management and authorities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director Culinary Services
What Were Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service or customer service preferred
- Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations
- Must be 18 years or older
- Meet health requirements including health screening and TB clearance
- Pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check
- First Aid certification required
- Compassion for and desire to work with older adults
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow instructions plan and organize tasks
- Self-motivated with strong customer service work ethic
- Pleasant professional and personable with excellent organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand walk sit use hands reach stoop kneel crouch climb and balance
- Ability to talk hear and use vision effectively
- Occasional weekend evening or night work and on-call as needed
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases blood-borne pathogens latex and other hazards
- Ability to lift and assist as needed up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent interaction with coworkers residents and vendors
