The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist
Operates highly specialized technical equipment to obtain quality images.
Works with physicians other healthcare providers and patients.
Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
Evaluates and positions patients.
Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
Interacts with patients families visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop coordinate and manage the plan of care.
Assists patients with scheduling registration file management and computer processing Trains students and staff as assigned.
May need to travel to other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Experience: none
Licensure/Certification: Must be CT registered within one year of hire. ARRT registry
Life Support: AHA-BLS-HCP
Other: Good interpersonal and technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
