The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for setting up and operating the manufacturing machines and related equipment in a production/processing operation. Monitor meters gauges valves flow ratios temperatures pressures and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Follow engineering drawings work order information manufacturing procedures SOPs and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process. Perform manufacturing process and equipment set-up calibration testing and inspections.

This position reports to the site Supervisor Manufacturing Process Engineer and is part of the manufacturing/production team which is associated with diagnostics located in Nicholasville Kentucky and will be an on-site role.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Precision Assembly & Finishing: Mount sensitive optical and jewel materials using waxes and epoxies; fine grind and polish components to micron-level tolerances while maintaining flat tools for optimal results.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Perform in-process dimensional checks and visual inspections under a microscope to ensure critical dimensions and defect-free components meet specifications.
  • Process & Workplace Excellence: Maintain a clean organized work area and tools in good condition; recommend and implement process improvements in collaboration with Engineering.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience OR associate degree and 1 years work experience; solid understanding of shop math and ability to read machine drawings blueprints and work instructions.
  • Technical & Manual Skills: Functional knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing; strong hand dexterity for handling sensitive components; proficiency in MS Office and basic Windows navigation.
  • Attention to Detail & Communication: Ability to maintain accurate records follow and communicate verbal/written instructions effectively and collaborate with associates and supervisors. Understands when to request guidance as well as be able to use an optical microscope for cleaning and inspection

Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting up to 20 pounds. Lift up to 35 pounds occasionally. Lifting frequency: Daily. Required to stand for long time periods.
  • Frequently twist and bend.
  • Pass visual acuity exam.
  • Work with solvents oils and other chemicals.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
