Role
The Head of Marketing & Communications will lead FairJourneys global marketing brand and communications strategy to drive international visibility client engagement and thought leadership. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing integrated marketing initiatives that support commercial growth scientific credibility and global brand differentiation.
This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution combining scientific understanding with marketing expertise in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical sectors.
Tasks
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing and communications strategy aligned with FairJourneys growth objectives.
- Define brand positioning and messaging to establish FairJourney as a trusted innovative biologics partner internationally.
- Lead market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform positioning campaigns and business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to support corporate strategy partnerships.
Marketing and Brand Development
- Build and strengthen FairJourneys brand identity across digital and physical channels.
- Oversee marketing campaigns targeting biotech pharma and academic audiences globally.
- Develop and maintain the Corporate Design including marketing collateral digital content presentations and corporate materials.
Communications and Public Relations
- Lead external communications including media relations press releases and thought leadership content as well as internal messaging towards employees.
- Position FairJourney and its scientists as experts through editorial content publications and conference speaking opportunities using consistent corporate messaging.
- Lead all internal communications activities to:
- Provide a smooth flow of information to streamline cross-departmental collaboration.
- Strengthen the understanding of and identification with FairJourney.
- Contribute to a rewarding corporate culture that retains talent.
- Manage crisis communications and reputation management when required.
Digital Marketing
- Oversee digital strategy including website SEO analytics and marketing automation platforms.
- Drive social media engagement email campaigns and digital lead generation initiatives.
- Track and optimize marketing performance through KPIs and analytics dashboards.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing marketing and communications team (internal or external).
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Business Development and Scientific Leaders to produce scientifically credible content.
- Manage external agencies consultants and vendors effectively.
Requirements
- Degree in Marketing Communications Life Sciences or related field.
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD) and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- 10 years of experience in senior marketing leadership roles within biotech biopharma CRO/CDMO environments.
- Proven experience building and scaling global B2B brands in science-driven and high-growth environments.
- Strong understanding of drug discovery biologics and pharmaceutical development processes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex science into compelling credible messaging for diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in international matrixed organizations (Europe & US preferred).
- Experience in scale-up transformation or PE-backed environments highly valued.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams under growth and change.
- Hands-on profile comfortable operating strategically and operationally in a lean organization.
- Fluent English required.
