- Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical systems (pneumatics flow control water cooling etc.)
- Experience with manufacturing equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to work with machine shops and vendors for part procurement
- Experience overseeing mechanics and electricians during assembly and installation
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with plastic extrusion manufacturing
- Electrical troubleshooting experience (low/medium voltage PLCs motion control temperature control systems)
- Data analysis experience using Excel PI and/or Power BI
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Design tooling and mechanical assemblies to improve fiber optic cable manufacturing equipment
- Create revise and maintain mechanical drawings and documentation
- Support equipment assembly installation and hands-on system integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during production integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT process and electrical engineering)
- Support operations through documentation updates and training assistance
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering or manufacturing equipment experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment
- Strong teamwork communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety and compliance with plant policies and PPE requirements
