Job Summary

Primary Purpose:

To provide direct instructional services to students in participating districts as part of the Region 16 Triage Task Force. The Teacher/Interventionist will deliver targeted intervention in Math and/or Reading Language Arts (RLA) for elementary students preferably grades 35 using research-based practices progress monitoring and data-driven instructional decisions. Daily travel to assigned campuses is required.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Valid Texas teaching certification required
  • Masters degree preferred

Skills

  • Bluebonnet Learning Experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience in Math and/or RLA preferably in grades 35
  • Experience delivering research-based instruction and intervention
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time meet deadlines and travel between campuses
  • Ability to work collaboratively with district and ESC staff
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Effective communication and coaching abilities
  • Service-oriented mindset

Working Conditions:

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Posture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling twisting and standing
  • Motion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking repetitive hand motions frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching occasional driving
  • Lifting: Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more)
  • Environment: Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise
  • Mental Demands: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Provides high-quality standards-aligned instruction to students through direct teaching in Math and/or RLA.
  2. Provides direct Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention services using research-based instructional practices.
  3. Implements progress-monitoring tools and adjusts instruction based on student data to support continuous student growth.
  4. Provides Tier 13 scaffolded academic supports aligned with MTSS/RTI frameworks to meet diverse student needs.
  5. Models effective instructional practices for teachers and support staff demonstrating strategies for engagement scaffolding differentiation and formative assessment.
  6. Plans internalizes and delivers daily lessons aligned with district expectations and student learning needs.
  7. Assists colleagues in planning and preparing lessons including materials development instructional design and best-practice implementation.
  8. Collaborates with campus staff ESC personnel district leaders and colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify instructional and professional development needs through detailed data analysis and self-reflection supporting intervention plans and improving student learning.
  9. Delivers instructional support and services that align with district needs and ESC expectations.
  10. Maintains accurate documentation of services student progress and instructional support provided.
  11. Participates in data reviews team meetings and district/ESC planning sessions as needed.
  12. Establishes and maintains positive professional working relationships with district staff students and families.
  13. Provides content best practices and pedagogical expertise in technical assistance and professional development to support improvements in instructional practices and student learning.
  14. Sets modifies and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment reflection peer and supervisor feedback contemporary research and analysis of student learning.
  15. Travels as a part of job responsibilities.
  16. Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the service area director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged activated messages checked and mailbox emptied regularly.
  17. Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities.
  18. Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16.
  19. Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters.
  20. Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC strategic plan.
  21. Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program.
  22. Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures.
  23. Manages time calendar and job responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  24. Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by the supervisor.
  25. Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned.
