The Technical Writing Intern is responsible for contributing to and editing external-facing technical documentation as well as non-technical communications promoting new product and feature releases. The successful candidate will also help design build and/or update internal process documentation supporting various functions of Geotabs Technical Writing practice.
What youll do:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of Geotab products and the documentation requirements
- Gather usability feedback from internal and external stakeholders and identify gaps in documentation and processes.
- Create new internal process documentation and update existing documents.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Review and edit documents prior to release and before they are sent for translation.
The opportunity:
- 8 month work-term beginning May 2026.
- Full-time paid internship: Monday - Friday37.5hrs/week.

How youll make an impact:
- Participate in team meetings and discussions
- Developing and refining content strategy at Geotab.
- Ensure that documents and UI strings are compliant with Geotab written style and formatting standards.
- Ensure product and support documents in English are clear easy to understand and grammatically correct
What youll bring to the role:
- Working towards a post-secondary degree/diploma specialization in Engineering Computer Science English Professional Writing or a related field.
- Excellent English writing skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent proofreading and editing abilities.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical competence using software programs including but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets Docs Slides) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat InDesign Photoshop) is an asset.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
