Job Summary

As our business grows Cabco seeks an HRand Safety Managerto join the Dartmouth office. Cabco Communications Group is the longest-running independent communications infrastructure integrator serving Atlantic Canada founded in 1980. As ourHRand Safety Manager you willcontribute to our people and culture initiatives creating a great employeeexperience and brand. Its a unique opportunity to shape the HR function drive meaningful initiatives and have a direct influence on how Cabco evolves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Running JOHSC meetings and leading the company-wide safety program
  • Leadingthe talent recruitment process including drafting job descriptionsposting it on multiple websites doing proactive searching/ outreach screening candidates phone screening candidates interviewingpreparing job offers
  • Preparingonboarding schedule and welcome package/uniforms and handling HR components(policy review benefits culture etc) booking meetings with key stakeholders
  • Maintainingemployee files and database
  • SupportingDiversity and Inclusion initiatives
  • Participatingin continuous learning opportunities and staying current with Human Rights andEmployment Legislation ensuring compliance
  • Providingpayroll and benefits support - entering/maintaining new hire/banking info andensuring enrollment in benefits and RRSP plan
  • Buildingrelationships with NSCC/NBCC and other schools ISANS
  • WCB case management
  • Working on AIP Immigration files for members

Your background:

Post-secondary education in Business with anHR major or post-grad HR certificate

Minimumof threeyears experience in Human Resources

Excellent customer service and communicationskills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

You are technologically savvy with Microsoft365 (Outlook Excel PowerPoint)

Knowledge of Payworks/Get Hired Bluecross would be an asset

High degree of integrity and confidentiality

Experience working withConstruction Safetyand COR audit programs would be an asset
