Job Summary

Summary:

We are seeking motivated Skid Steer / Loader Operators to support our Transport and Infrastructure operations across the New Plymouth region. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of asphalt maintenance and construction projects.

Responsibilities:

Operate skid steer and loader equipment safely and efficiently during asphalt maintenance and construction activities

Conduct pre-start inspections and complete daily servicing tasks to ensure equipment readiness

Maintain equipment in optimal condition through regular cleaning checks and reporting of issues

Support crew members with general labouring and operational duties on site

Adhere strictly to safe work practices and comply with site HSE policies and procedures

Communicate clearly and proactively with supervisors and team members

Be available to work occasional overtime or weekend shifts as project demands require

Requirements

Valid full Class 1 New Zealand drivers licence

Proven ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced site environment

Strong commitment to safety compliance and operational standards

Experience supporting maintenance or construction operations with a focus on civil plant

Willingness to learn and use digital or computer-based systems for reporting and documentation

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

WTR endorsement preferred

Prior experience operating civil plant including wheeled loaders

Exposure to asphalt or road maintenance worksites

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in equipment care
