Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Peer Specialist you will provide invaluable support encouragement and guidance to individuals drawing upon your own lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges.
Experience in coping with life events successfully despite having a mental health challenge.
- Help individuals in setting and achieving their own goals.
- Maintain high standards of personal conduct. Teach and role model the value of every individuals recovery experience. Conduct self in a manner that fosters ones own recovery. Share with consumers and colleagues personal recovery stories from mental health challenges. Be able to identify and describe the supports that promote recovery.
- Respect the confidentiality rights and dignity of the individuals served at all times.
Job Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Must have experience with their own personal mental health challenges.
Preferred
- Experience as a Peer Support Specialist or working in a Psychiatric or Human Services setting and
