As a Locum MD in Gastroenterology you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders ensuring patient health and well-being. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret results
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Educate patients and families on gastrointestinal health
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Stay updated on advancements in gastroenterology
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD) with specialization in Gastroenterology
- Board certification in Gastroenterology preferred
- Prior experience in a clinical setting as a gastroenterologist
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethics
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Kentucky
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts 7 on/7 off
Setting: Inpatient
Patient Volume: 10-20 per day 10 admissions per night
Duties: Bread & butter inpatient GI ED call consultations and procedures
Required Procedures: ERCP and bread & butter endo
Support Staff: 3 inpatient APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
