Job Summary
Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Carmel IN
Duration: 8 Weeks (Contract) Possibility of Extension
Shift Schedule:
Mon Wed Fri: 07:00 AM 04:00 PM
Tue Thu: 08:00 AM 05:00 PM
Position Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to provide both front- and back-office clinical support. This role involves direct patient interaction clinical procedures and administrative responsibilities to support daily operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Maintaining a collaborative and professional relationship with staff and patients is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Greet room and assist patients during clinic visits
Take and document vital signs
Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and point-of-care (POC) testing
Administer vaccines and assist with clinical procedures
Perform EKGs as required
Schedule appointments and manage phone communications
Support both front-office and back-office operations
Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Provide general clinical and administrative support as needed
Required Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
Certifications
Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
BLS or CPR certification required
Technical & Clinical Skills
Front- and back-office experience
Phlebotomy / venipuncture
EKG
Point-of-care (POC) testing
Patient rooming and vital signs
Scheduling and phone support
EMR proficiency
Additional Skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent patient communication skills
Solid computer and documentation skills
