About the Department
Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan the Partnership pathology services are provided from two main laboratories (The Alfred in Prahran and Monash Medical Centre in Clayton) and five branch laboratories (Casey Hospital Dandenong Hospital Moorabbin Hospital Sandringham Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospital). In addition there are 20 collection centres and rooms spread across Southeast Melbourne and South Gippsland with the furthest one located in Yarram.
About the Role
A rare and exciting opportunity exists in our laboratory located at The Alfred to manage the day-to-day operation of a busy complex NATA accredited Anatomical Pathology laboratory. The Anatomical Pathology Unit is located at The Alfred campus. Diagnostic and laboratory services to Caulfield and Sandringham hospitals are provided via an outreach program. The Anatomical Pathology Unit comprises Histopathology Cytopathology Immunohistochemistry Victorian Neuromuscular Laboratory and the Mortuary. The Principal Scientist Anatomical Pathology collaborates with the Anatomical Pathology Unit Head Alfred Pathology Service in the provision of a Anatomical Pathology service to the clinicians and patients of Alfred Health and referrals from public and private laboratories.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated scientist with relevant training and experience to fill the position of Principal Scientist Anatomical Pathology Alfred Health Pathology.
