About the role

Water Corporation is seeking a highly experiencedPrincipal Infrastructure Architectwith a proven background in traditional enterprise infrastructure and a strong track record of leading organisations through cloudfirst transformation.

This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing infrastructure roadmaps that modernise legacy environments and enable cloud adoption ensuring platforms and services are secure resilient scalable and aligned with business and technology strategy.

What the role will involve:

In this role you will guide enterprise infrastructure architecture strategy and ensure technology investments and platform evolution support business priorities and long-term sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading development of infrastructure architecture roadmaps aligned with corporate and IT strategy these will includeEnd User and MobilityServices Network ServicesStorage ServicesPlatform Servicesand System Management.
Providing strategic input into future infrastructure planningfocusingontransitioning toCloud ServicesInfrastructure as Code and Governance as Code.
Guiding technology selection and integration to maximise value and support business priorities
Translating infrastructure lifecycle strategy into short- and long-term planning
Reviewing business requirements and recommending appropriate infrastructure solutions
Collaborating with delivery teams and service providers to ensure solution quality and alignment with standards
Developing andmaintaining infrastructure architecture standards and governance practices
Ensuring projects and platform teams comply with architecture principles and standards
Developing phased infrastructure uplift and transition plans across platforms and environments
Supporting governance processes and contributing to enterprise architecture repository accuracy
Participating in architectural governance forums andcollaborating onarchitectural decisions to guide critical technology decisions
Researching emerging infrastructure and platform technologies to inform futurecapability.

Mandatoryskills and experience:

You will bring strong enterprise infrastructure architecture experience combined with the ability to influence strategic technology outcomes across a large organisation.

You will demonstrate:

Degree qualification in Information Technology or related discipline
Extensive experience in infrastructure architecture and strategic planning
Experience defining and implementing infrastructure strategy in complex enterprise environments
Strong experience across infrastructure lifecycle management including installation operation and optimisation
Experience working within Agile or scaled Agile delivery environments
Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and governance frameworks such as TOGAF
Appropriate certifications including AWS Architecture certifications
Ability to understand technical and organisational dependencies across enterprise environments
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

In addition the following will be desirable:

Experiencewith Operational Technology
Experience withFirewalls
Experience withtheScaled Agile Framework(SAFe)
Experience withArchiMate
