Job Summary

The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Football Analyst. This is a full-time (probationary and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 250 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Football Analyst is responsible for providing administrative instructional and coaching support to the Coaching Staff regarding aspects of opponent planning scouting reports tendency patterns personnel packages and roster status. Assists UI coaching staff with the purpose of building a successful competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes. Assists Recruiting Coordinator Director of Recruiting and Director of Player Personnel in selected aspects of the on-campus recruiting process. This position requires occasional work in the evenings and on weekends.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum one year of successful intercollegiate football administrative and/or playing experience at the NCAA Division I level;
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Minimum of one year of experience Utilizing office productivity software and online database systems (please specify) and visual presentation software such as Visio or equivalent;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; as demonstrated by prior research and analytics experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated team environment:
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.

Desired qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of successful intercollegiate football administrative and/or playing experience at the NCAA Power 4 level;
  • Demonstrated proficiency and ability) to:
    • Utilize video analysis system such as HUDL DVSport XOs or equivalent.
    • Comply with N.C.A.A. rules and regulations.
    • Maintain productive and long term relationships with staff prospects and high school coaches.
    • Utilize football performance analytics systems (i.e. Championship Analytics Pro Football Focus-PFF).
  • Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.
