Commis Chef

The role

We have a wonderful rare opportunity to join our Kitchen Brigade as a casual Commis Chef youll be responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the Kitchen and working in a team to provide quality and a high level of service to guests while adhering to Kitchen policies and procedures.

What youll be doing:

• Food production in accordance with requirements whilst ensuring correct methods of cooking consistency in product and quality
• Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety & adhere to strcit food safety guidelines follow GIA procedures for food waste.
• Responsible for proper storage labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control
• Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff by providing instruction of duties
• Be a positive team member with a Can Do attitude

Qualifications :

What were looking for:

• Commercial Cookery Qualification Cert III or IV
• An experienced Chef with a creative flair and able to work across a la carte dining and functions and events
• Have previous experience working on pans and grill
• Sound knowledge of the latest trends in the industry 
• Familiar with Food Safety and WHS legislation
• A passion for locally sourced and seasonal produce
• Proven ability to work in a high pressure and fast-paced environment 
• Creative eye for Detail and a Flair for Presentation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A desire to develop among a driven & professional team
• Ability to work autonomously on a section or within a fast-paced team
• Availability to work a flexible roster including nights week-ends and public holidays.
• Hold valid full working rights in Australia to be able to work a full-time roster (sorry no sponsorship available).
