Position Overview
A growing manufacturing company is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to support day-to-day inventory accuracy across raw materials work-in-process (WIP) and finished goods. This role is hands-on and closely tied to production shipping/receiving and purchasing.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a manufacturing environment and direct hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for inventory transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials WIP and finished goods using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Execute inventory transactions in D365 (receipts issues transfers adjustments)
- Support production by ensuring material availability and accurate inventory locations
- Coordinate with purchasing warehouse and production teams on inventory flow
- Track material movement lot control and traceability as required
- Identify root causes of inventory variances and support corrective actions
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (required)
- Experience managing raw materials WIP and finished goods
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Comfortable working on the production floor and in warehouse settings
- Basic Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metals aluminum extrusion or fabrication manufacturing
- Experience with cycle counting programs and inventory audits
- Familiarity with barcoding or scanner-based inventory systems
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
