This role will lead in the development of future investment opportunities for Support Information Services and Digitalisation (Sp IS&D).
Development work will include NATO digital integration the adoption of Artificial Intelligence opportunities across the Defence Support Enterprise and enabling technologies to exploit the delivery of Defences new Engineering and Asset Management services. The work will involve direct engagement with FInance teams and close working with other Capability Development branches.
The role will also include support to the delivery of key Support programmes such as Business Modernisation for Support (BMfS). The branch will also be closely support the Defence Investment Plan 25 follow on actions.
Experience in Capability and Acquisition (Cap & Acq) is highly desirable equally an understanding of Defence Support functionality and Logistic and Engineering Information Services is desirable. As the principle OF4 for capability development in IS for Support this role requires someone who thinks independently and can brief confidently up to 3* and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. A decent understanding of Defence Digital (DD) structures and J6 would be of benefit due to the enduring dependencies of the underpinning technologies provided by DD such as network provision.
Hybrid working is available but the minimum in-office time expectation will be agreed with DHoC.
The responsibilities for this role are:
Lead Sp IS&D activities on behalf of HOC Support.
Manage the Sp IS&D requirements originating from Defence Support.
Lead the Sp IS&D WGs for Artificial Intelligence Inventory Mgmt Asset Tracking Movements Mgmt ETLS Decision Support and NATO Interoperability.
Manage the SPC and BoI process for Sp IS&d. Including Option development Initial Look Requests and Formal Change Requests.
Provide oversight and assurance to the pan-DLOD delivery of Support IS programmes and projects
Support and Deputise for COS and DHoC as required.
Lead and manage the Sp IS&D team consisting of 2 x SO2 and 1 x C2.
