Address: 8303 Dodge St. - Omaha NE

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 7:00am to 4:00pm; weekends as needed (few) no holidays

Responsible for day to day management and long term planning in the OR Supply department.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions

1. Leading.

  • Maintains appropriate staffing for adequate coverage with case load and responsibilities.

  • Participates in interviews and hiring of new staff in conjunction with the supply chain manager.

  • Responsible for staff employee relations including disciplinary action and terminations.

  • Maintains a positive work environment.

  • Is a role model.

  • Provides rewards and recognition to promote staff acknowledgment.

  • Performs management duties such as training coaching counseling mentoring and evaluations to ensure competent staff within the OR Supply Department.

  • Managing the daily operations of the OR Supply department by managing and motivating staff performing productivity audits and identifying any training needs to ensure consistent quality and productivity of employees.

2. Assures staff Development.
  • Provides team meetings and agendas for ongoing learning in the department

  • Coordinates with the IC and Product Coordinator on new product and substitutions in the department.

  • Monitors completion of annual reviews and other requirements for the department.

3. Department utilization.
  • Works with IC and Product coordinator to maintain appropriate stock levels in the department.

  • Uses reports to identify areas of concern for utilization of product in the department.

  • Maintains DOH inventory reports for utilization of department inventory.

  • Works with the OR and ancillary departments to maintain par reports showing utilization of par products and establishes guidelines for par stock.

4. Department Relations.

  • Attends internal and external meetings to ensure OR Supply is maintain appropriate levels of service for the customer.

  • Maintains communication with OR Cores to ensure they are aware of any supply issues that may affect the departments ability to support them.

5. Identifies possible new inventory locations within the Health System by meeting with Service Leaders and Health System Leadership to ensure supply inventory is monitored to help department stay within budgetary parameters.

6. Is able to understand and operationalize the mission vision core values Leadership Standards of Behavior and policies/procedures.

7. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Description:

Job Requirements

Education

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) required.
  • Bachelor Degree preferred preferably in Business or Healthcare.
  • Experience may be substituted for education requirement


Experience

  • 3 5 years previous supervisory experience preferred preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • 2 3 years previous hospital supply management/distribution preferred.


License/Certifications

  • Valid and current drivers license required.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and supply operation systems required.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers required.
  • Able to read write and comprehend various written reports and documents required.
  • Able to travel to various locations required.
