Job Summary

Epworth HealthCare (Epworth) seeks casual enthusiastic Registered Nurses with acute experience to join our high performing and highly valued Central Resource Unit (CRU). 

The CRU provides a flexible workforce to support Epworth clinical units. With a choice of sites and specialities available you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality patient focused care. 

Epworths Eastern Suburbs consists of Epworth Eastern Camberwell Hawthorn and you will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of specialities including orthopaedics urology colorectal vascular general surgery ENT gynaecology plastics neurosurgery complex pain management general medical/oncology and inpatient rehabilitation.

Workforce Needs

General Nursing (medical surgical and rehabilitation)

  • Night Duty Nurses only
  • Staff who can work at short notice and those who are flexible to work across multiple specialities and locations

Critical Care Nursing

  • ND across weekday especially Wednesday and Thursdays

You will make an impact by:

To be successful in this role you will 

  • Have Permanent residency Australian citizenship or working rights in Australia
  • Have recency of practice and minimum 12 months of relevant experience
  • Have excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills 
  • Take pride in providing excellent patient care through working both independently and as part of a team nursing model
  • Be reliable with a focus on flexibility and accountability for the work that you do
  • Be teachable and have a willingness to learn and grow professionally 
  • Enjoy the challenge of working flexibly within a team environment. 
  • Possess a strong understanding and background of patient-centred care 
  • Have the ability to maintain a high level of communication with patients staff and visitors. 
  • Have well-developed time management and prioritisation skills

Located in Box Hill Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility with 14 theatres and expansion of ICU to 12 beds. Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac vascular orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology urology and endoscopy services. Our redeveloped site delivers positive meaningful and sustainable impact on the health and wellbeing of our community delivering much needed health care services and facilities in Melbournes east.


Qualifications :

  • A current Registered Nurse AHPRA registration 
  • Have completed a Graduate Year (by commencement of work) or had 12 months of acute experience since graduation. 
  • Possess a current Working with Children Check (Employee)
