Epworth Richmond Intensive Care Unit is a 26bed tertiary ICU with a broad scope of practice. We provide specialist care across complex surgical streams including cardiac neurosurgical and major surgical cases as well as a wide range of general medical specialties with a strong focus on cardiology.
We are an accredited CICM Training site with an active commitment to education echocardiography and clinical research. We are now seeking motivated Intensive Care Specialists to join our dynamic consultant team.
Current Opportunities
- Part-time Intensive Care Specialist - Education portfolio (commencing immediately)
A role suited to a consultant with a passion for teaching trainee development and contributing to our structured education program.
- Fulltime Intensive Care Specialist 6month Fixed Term (from July)
This position covers long service leave and includes leadership of the ICU echocardiography program. A DDU or equivalent echocardiography qualification is required.
About the Role
In these positions you will:
- Provide highquality clinical care to patients requiring intensive care management
- Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary ICU team
- Contribute to education quality improvement and service development initiatives
You will report to A/Prof Joanna Simpson Medical Director ICU.
You will make an impact by:
- Delivering excellence in clinical services research education and knowledge transfer within Intensive Care Medicine
- Contributing to processes that ensure patients receive highquality services and continuity of care achieving excellent clinical standards and outcomes
- Supporting the establishment and maintenance of a highperforming multidisciplinary team
- Providing education supervision and support to Intensive Care Registrars
To be successful in this role
You will need strong leadership skills and ability to live by Epworth Healthcare Values and Behaviours. Have well developed communication negotiation and presentation skills. Have knowledge and understanding of the healthcare industry
You will have:
- AHPRA Registration to practice in the State of Victoria
- Significant clinical experience and training in intensive care
- Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM)
- Recognition by Medicare as a specialist in intensive care
- Ongoing participation in CICM or equivalent CPD program
