We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to be part of our team at Education Centre of Australia (ECA) Corporate in our Sydney office. ECA Corporate provides shared services and strategic support across the ECA Group enabling high-quality education delivery and sustainable well-governed growth. Working closely with business areas it delivers accurate financial accounting reporting and meaningful insights that inform sound decision-making and enhance organisational performance while continuously strengthening financial systems processes and capability across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • TechnologyOne Finance super-user: Bring your TechnologyOne finance expertise to support our finance systems implementation.
  • Financial Reporting & Audit Support: Support the Group Financial Controller in preparing compliant financial reports and coordinating external audits to achieve unqualified outcomes.
  • Financial Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls and reconciliations ensuring compliance with accounting tax and insurance requirements.
  • Month-End & Balance Sheet Management: Support month-end close processes ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations and reliable financial data.
  • Management Reporting & Analysis: Prepare management accounts cash flow forecasts and analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Budgeting Forecasting & Cost Management: Assist with Group budgeting and forecasting including consolidation and identification of cost efficiencies.
  • Systems Data Integrity & Finance Projects: Support finance systems implementation and improvements strengthening data integrity and governance.
  • Collaboration & Organisational Capability: Collaborate across the Group to enhance financial capability and contribute to an inclusive high-performing culture.

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and motivated Financial Accountant bringing strong technical expertise a proven track record in financial reporting and analysis and the ability to drive process improvements while supporting the organisations growth and financial integrity.

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Have an accounting degree and be CPA/CA qualified.
  • Be a TechnologyOne Finance super-user coupled with advanced Excel and BI tool skills.
  • Have senior financial accounting experience across complex multi-entity portfolios.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports in compliance with AASB standards.
  • Apply strong knowledge of accounting principles audit processes and compliance.
  • Co-ordinate the development of budgets forecasts cash flow models and performance measures.
  • Drive process improvements and cost efficiency initiatives.
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking adaptability and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Collaborate effectively across multifunctional teams and stakeholders
