Job Summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician!

Practice Setting: Inpatient --Call Structure at MMC approx 1:4 //Fri 4pm-Fri 4pm//Floor/ED/ICU/emergent consults and endoscopies (when needed) --Carry Beeper overnight--Outpatient-TBD and will know more early next week. 1 week per month ongoing.
Reason for Coverage: Retirement
Dates of Coverage: Start mid Dec 2025 until we find perm placement physician
Clinical Areas: Adult Hospital Gastro endoscopy

Onsite X-Ray Yes
Will Outpatient Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine be Required No
Average Number of Office/Clinic Patients Per Locum Per Day: unknown at this time if outpt coverage is required-will amend as soon as i know
Average Number of Hospital Based Patients Per Locum Per Day: 4-12 per day

Esophageal Manometry Interpretation
Small Bowel Biopsy
Lower GI Endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy
Liver Biopsy
Required Types of Upper GI Endoscopy:
with Biopsy
with Foreign Body Removal
with Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser)
with Injection of Varices
with Banding of Varices
Diagnostic
Therapeutic
with PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
Bill rates to be submitted:
Malpractice rate (to be included in rates)
Orientation
Night call (with minimum of 2 hours gratis)
Holiday night call
24 hours on call (with minimum of 4 hours gratis)
Holiday 24 hours on call
Call back
Holiday Call back
Conversion Fee - $25k

Requirement description :
Board Certified/Board Eligible - REQUIRED BC preferred
ACTIVE MA LICSENSE - REQUIRED
No outpatient expectations
BLS - REQUIRED
ERCP certification is a nice to have but not a must - NICE TO HAVE
