This contract position is on-site and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of young patients while working within a collaborative medical practice environment.
As a Locum MD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments diagnoses and treatment plans for children and adolescents. Your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality mental health care and working alongside a team of professionals committed to improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy and medication management as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists social workers and educators
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings
- Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatment options
- Stay updated on best practices and advancements in child psychiatry
Requirements
- MD or DO degree with a valid medical license
- Completion of residency in Psychiatry with a focus on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Experience in a clinical setting treating children and adolescents
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
No call requirement
Setting: Onsite
Patient Population: 13-17 years old
Patient Volume: 15-20 per psychiatrist per day
ADC: 95-100 total patients
ALOS: 7.5-8 days
Bed Count: 130
Current Team: 5 full-time psychiatrists 3 part-time psychiatrists 5 family practice physicians (medical consultants) RN BHS NPs
Must be board-certified
