Job Summary:

LME are re-platforming and moving to Red Hat OpenShift Bare Metal private cloud infrastructure and this role offers a unique opportunity to work within a highly skilled DevSecOps team to complete that journey.

Primarily the role will be to assist the LME Virtualization Engineering Team in migrating Virtual Workloads (a mixture of Windows and Linux VMs) from VMware vSphere to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization running on OCP.

Knowledge to support and maintain the OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) infrastructure and notably the LME IAC implementation of OCP will also need to be gained.

Developing knowledge of containers if not already held will also be paramount to succeeding in this role.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

You will assist the LME London based team with following tasks:

Assist where relevant with building out OCP Bare Metal Infrastructure
Provide Capacity Management assessments of the On-Prem ESX & OCP Bare Metal platforms
Establish VM migration plans by reviewing hosted apps and assessing individual technology best practices
Assisting to migrate numerous VMs hosting various applications onto the private cloud Bare Metal infrastructure
Ability to troubleshoot OS Network and Storage issues related to Virtualization.
Helping the LME to raise utilization of hardware estate to 60-70%

Required Knowledge and Level of Experience:

Degree in Computer Science IT or related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years working with Virtualization technologies and Windows and/or Linux Server administration experience. Some knowledge and experience of working with both technologies highly desirable.
Knowledge and experience of working with vSphere/ESX Infrastructure and Virtual Machines.
Experience working with HPE Proliant DL Servers highly desirable
Any knowledge and experience of Red Hat OpenShift highly desirable
Any knowledge and experience of containerisation highly desirable
Any experience of working with Red Hat OpenShift Dev Workspaces and IAC highly desirable
