Responsibilities
The Optical Engineer interns responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:
- Characterize high-speed optical transceivers
- Characterize optical component (Lens Isolator Fiber Array) and sub-assemblies (TOSA/ROSA)
- Set up R&D Test stations and execute automation in test stations.
- Write testing script in Phyton/Visual Basic/Labview
- Execute debugging on test stations and modules
- Execute Design Verification Tests. Write technical reports
- Interact with internal design engineers in US and overseas
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will be enrolled in Masters degree program in Optical-electronic Engineering Physics or equivalent education.
- Academic master student in the second year intern time from Mar to Sep in 2026
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates have taken graduate course on optical communications RF and/or high-speed data communication. Other relevant areas may be considered
- Software development experience (Phyton Visual Basic or Labview)
- Multidisciplinary background (optics electronics RF communications etc)
- Excellent communications organizational presentation and time management skills.
- Experience in characterizing lasers photodiodes and active optical subassemblies.
- Experience in optical transceivers or transmission optical subsystems
- Solid knowledge of optics.
- Strong experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experienced with Word Macro/Templates/ Outline/Table Excel Matlab.
- Lab experience with optical and/or RF equipment
- English communication skills.
