Job Summary
SENIOR ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST (WILLMAR MN)(2 positions available)

Hybrid Work Schedule: Work in office Monday - Thursday and flexible location on Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position #1
The person in this position:
- Provides vacation relief for all inventory-related activities balancing system inventories with warehouses payables and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure proper asset accountability and valuation at company warehouses and 3rd party warehouses.
- Performs general ledger balancing and reconciliation of various account activities.
- Provides reporting on inventory and general ledger activities.
- Prepares balance sheet reconciliations and other fiscal period close duties.
Prepares and posts journal vouchers for various expense accruals and reclasses.
- Performs other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by management.
Position #2
The person in this position:
- Monitors and processes all activity associated with inventory purchases and usage of raw materials/supplies for co-packer produced items to ensure proper asset accountability and valuation as well as accurate product costs.
- Performs functions associated with production entry into Oracle Cloud.
- Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy for Applegates main distribution center and monitoring third party EDI transactions for accuracy and validity.
- Analyzes and reports the Profit and Loss statements for co-packer and third-party warehouse locations weekly.
- Verifies the asset and liability accounts each period and providesreconciliations to management.
- Maintains all product bill of materials for their assigned co-packer locations and any related changes to the spreadsheets used for production entry.
- Performs general ledger balancing & reconciliation of various accounts along with reporting on the account activities.
- Performs other accounting and administrative work as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year post high school education in accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience with computers and ability to learn and use custom computer programs
- Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Oracle Cloud experience
Familiarity with accounting practices
At Hormel Foods base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $21.00 - $29.25 per hour and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skill set level of experience and geographic market location.
