A supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Ealing is looking to appoint a resilient and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for candidates who are confident supporting behaviour emotional regulation and positive engagement within a mainstream primary setting.
You will be working primarily with pupils in Key Stage 2 supporting children who may display challenging behaviour linked to unmet SEN needs trauma or emotional regulation difficulties. Support will be delivered through 1:1 work small group interventions and in-class support.
This school has a strong focus on wellbeing restorative practice and inclusive behaviour support. The leadership team is experienced and highly supportive and the SENCo works closely with support staff to ensure clear strategies and consistency across the school.

Provide consistent support to pupils with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation using positive behaviour strategies
Build trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement
Assist pupils with accessing learning and classroom routines
Implement behaviour plans and EHCP strategies
Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times
Record observations and contribute to progress reviews
Work collaboratively with teachers SEN staff and external professionals
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Calm resilient and emotionally intelligent approach
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Ability to work consistently and professionally under pressure
Willingness to engage in training and reflective practice
This role is well suited to candidates with backgrounds in SEN education youth work psychology or behaviour support.
