Job Summary
About the role:
WM has an excellent opportunity that has arisen for a high performing and commercially aware Regional Manager managing our municipal and commercial collections businesss while growing our commercial presence in the region. The role will be based in the Napier/Hastings area as this is central to all our activities but also incorporates the management of our Gisborne business.
This is a desirable role for the right person in a great location. This is a senior Lower North Island role that reports through to the General Manager WM South and is supported by a strong regional support network.
The position responsibilities cover the full operational and financial management of all aspects of our business including leading a strong safety culture operational management staff maintenance and compliance requirements meeting financial and growth targets and budgets and interacting with our large customer base.

About you:
The person we are looking for must have a proven health and safety performance record and background demonstrating operational excellence to provide and maintain a safe and efficient workplace for our team and customers. Ideally you will have had some exposure to working in a busy multifaceted workplace where your strong organisational skills and commercial acumen have been tried and tested. Additional requirements
Qualifications
- Key characteristics honesty integrity ownership and accountability
- Experience managing a team of 50-70 staff including operational and support staff.
- Strong analytical and communications skills
- Ability to contribute within multiple levels of the business in both written and verbal settings.
- Ability to interpret the P&L with a strategic and growth focus.
- A proven ability to deliver business growth.
This is an opportunity for you to bring your own management style and take ownership of the business on a day-to-day basis with the great team that support you along with the support of the operational managers and wider corporate team. Our WM South team has a supportive approach so whilst you will have a high level of autonomy you will operate within a team environment alongside the other regional managers and senior team.
