Responsibilities & Expectations

As a Senior Field Service Technician youll perform testing and maintenance on low- medium- and high-voltage power distribution equipment for commercial and industrial customers. Youll also help lead and support field crews as needed.


Testing and Calibration

- Instrument transformer testing

- Power transformer testing (Doble insulation resistance transformer turns ratio)

- Cable testing including power factor tan delta VLF and hipot

- Circuit breaker and switchgear testing (low medium and high voltage)

- Primary and secondary injection testing

- Protective relay testing (electromechanical and solid-state)

- Continuity and ground fault testing

- Power quality analysis


Field Work

- Troubleshoot inspect start up and collect data on switchgear circuit breakers cables transformers protective relays VFDs and ATS systems

- Perform inspections diagnose issues replace components make repair recommendations and recommission equipment


Safety

- Follow all safety procedures including proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices


Team & Customer Interaction

- Support teammates and contribute to a strong team environment

- Communicate clearly with customers explaining issues and solutions in a way thats easy to understand


Documentation

- Complete accurate service reports and documentation

- Perform work in accordance with NETA or NICET standards as required

Qualifications and Competencies

- 5 years of relevant electrical testing experience

- Comfortable using industry testing equipment such as meggers digital multimeters hi-pot testers oil dielectric strength testers relay test sets primary and secondary injection equipment cable fault detectors and oscilloscopes

- At least 3 years of driving experience with a valid unrestricted drivers license

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Ability to read and understand schematics manuals and safety procedures

- Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime weekends and on-call rotations
