Certified Nursing Assistant
The CNA is a member of the patient care team. Their duties include patient preparation for surgery/procedure obtain patient vitals moving patients assist with bay/bed turnover restocking units and a variety clinical tasks in the pre-op setting.
Essential job functions:
1. Assist patients with admission and discharge process
2. Assist nurses with patient scheduling PreOp calls discharged patient follow up calls
3. Complete tasks as assigned by nurses.
Skills & Abilities
- Able to work independently and meet established deadlines.
- Able to make sound reasonable decisions.
- Highly organized
- Ability to concentrate on many detailed requests despite numerous interruptions.
- Demonstrates accountability professionalism openness; is receptive to change and exhibits creativity and innovation.
- Ability to identify and calmly handle inherently stressful situations with tact.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships with patients and staff.
- Seeks guidance direction and assistance when needed.
- Ability to be flexible and take on new responsibilities.
Experience Training & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-6 months of previous experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center preferred but new grads are welcome
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CNA or MA certification preferred.
- Language preferred: Spanish Vietnamese Korean.
