Position: 1

Role summary:
The Staff Accountant supports monthend and periodend close activities across General Ledger and Platform accounting areas helping ensure accurate financial reporting and controls for a broad set of accounting areas including revenue operating expenses & accruals payroll fixed assets leases capitalized software debt operating and customer cash lending activities derivatives digital asset inventory and investments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support monthend and quarterend close activities across assigned accounting areas.

  • Prepare post and own journal entries and maintain associated workbooks and calculations.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/clear reconciling items.

  • Perform financial variance analysis and provide explanations to stakeholders.

  • Execute data analytics to support accounting processes reconciliations and investigations.

  • Respond to stakeholder questions (e.g. FP&A accounting partners internal audit) and build/maintain relationships to obtain required inputs.

  • Support audit requests and provide documentation/evidence for internal and external reviews.

  • Escalate and coordinate complex or crossteam transactions reaching out to other teams as required.

  • Maintain accurate documentation (workpapers desktop procedures) and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

  • Regular collaboration with corporate controllership FP&A Tax Treasury Payroll Legal and other crossfunctional teams.

  • Fastpaced detailoriented environment with emphasis on accuracy timeliness and continuous improvement.

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting or related GL roles.

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or equivalent.

  • CPA Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification preferred/required as noted.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Proficiency in SQL or other data query tools for analysis.

  • Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated experience performing reconciliations journal entries and monthend close tasks.

  • Experience with ERP and RTR/reporting tools such as NetSuite SAP OracleBlackLineTrintechor similar platforms.

  • Experience supporting SOX/internal controls and working with internal and external auditors.

  • Experience with intercompany project accounting and complex transaction types.

  • Prior exposure to digital asset accounting investments lending derivatives or capitalized software accounting is a plus.

  • Experience contributing to process improvement automation and documentation of desktop procedures.
